Write for us
We welcome pitches that make one part of sport easier to understand. A strong contribution starts with a focused question, gives readers enough context, and offers a useful explanation without overstating what can be known.
Ideas we welcome
Pitch evergreen pieces about rules, tactics, roles, match formats or the language and claims surrounding sport. Comparisons are welcome when they explain a genuine difference; explainers work best when they give readers a clear way to follow a game. Avoid subjects that depend on professional medical, legal or investment advice.
What to include
Send a short outline naming the central question, the reader it would help and the main points the piece would explain. Note any important scope, such as a particular sport or competition, and identify sources or evidence the explanation would need. A working title is useful; a finished draft is not required for an initial proposal.
How to send a pitch
Use the Contact page and select the editorial option. Keep the proposal focused and include a way to reply. Sending a pitch does not guarantee acceptance, publication or a particular timetable.
